High in the leafy treetops lives Lilo, a curious lemur with bright amber eyes and a long black-and-white striped tail. One morning she packs her woven vine satchel with a few tools and sets off to explore, and among the branches she discovers an old wooden bridge covered in moss and vines, with planks missing and ropes fraying. Though the bridge sways and creaks beneath her, Lilo senses it must once have mattered, and she decides it needs to be repaired rather than abandoned.
Realizing she cannot fix it alone, she turns to her friends: Tilly the tenrec, strong for her size and always ready to dig in, and Cam the chameleon, whose swivel eyes and gripping feet let him reach high places and tie knots. Together the three inspect the loose posts, gather branches and vines, and work patiently through the morning, each contributing exactly what they do best. A wise old owl and a family of butterflies watch as the bridge slowly grows strong and straight again.
The story follows this small team as they solve each problem the bridge presents and then open the path to the wider forest community, where mice, turtles and other animals can once again visit friends on the other side. Told in simple, warm language, it shows young readers how cooperation, patience and care for shared places can bring a community closer, and that even the smallest creature can make a real difference. It suits children at the picture-book and early-reader stage, and adults looking for a gentle bedtime story about friendship and teamwork.

A Passage from the Tale
The Lemur's Secret Bridge Çınar BİBER
High in the leafy treetops, where sunbeams danced on green leaves, lived a curious lemur named Lilo. With her bright amber eyes and long black-and-white striped tail, she loved to explore every branch and hidden path. One morning, she packed her woven vine satchel with a few tools and set off to find something new. The forest whispered with secrets, and Lilo was ready to discover them. 1
Lilo leaped from branch to branch, her small nimble hands gripping the bark. Suddenly, she stopped. There, stretching between two great trees, was an old wooden bridge. It was covered in moss and vines, and some planks were missing. 'A forgotten bridge!' she gasped. 'Where does it lead?' Her heart beat fast with excitement and a little worry. 2
Lilo stepped carefully onto the bridge, but it swayed and creaked. A rope snapped, and a plank fell into the ferns below. 'Oh no! This bridge is not safe,' she said. 'But it must have been important once. I need help to fix it.' She looked around, wondering who could help her. Then she remembered her friends: Tilly the tenrec and Cam the chameleon. 3
Lilo hurried to find Tilly, who was busy digging under a log. Tilly's spiky brown-and-tan quills bristled as she worked, and her little red neck scarf was dusty. 'Tilly,' said Lilo, 'I found a broken bridge in the treetops. Will you help me fix it?' Tilly wiped her paws and nodded. 'I'm strong for my size. Let's go!' 4
Next, they found Cam the chameleon basking on a sunny leaf. His bright green skin shifted to turquoise as he turned his large swivel eyes toward them. He wore a tiny blue cloth cap between his eyes. 'A bridge?' said Cam. 'I can reach high spots and tie knots. Count me in!' The three friends set off together, eager to repair the forgotten bridge. 5
Back at the bridge, the friends looked at the damage. 'We need strong branches and vines,' said Tilly. She scurried off and returned with a heavy branch, carrying it on her quilled back. Lilo gathered vines with her nimble hands. Cam climbed up high and checked the ropes. 'The posts are loose,' he called down. 'We must fix them first.' 6
Tilly pushed and propped the posts while Lilo tied vines around them. Cam used his mitten-like feet to grip the ropes and his curled tail for balance. 'Hold it steady,' said Tilly. 'I'll tie this knot,' said Cam. They worked together, each doing what they did best. Slowly, the bridge began to look stronger. 7
As they worked, other animals peeked from the leaves. A family of butterflies fluttered by, and a wise old owl watched from a branch. 'What are you doing?' asked the owl. 'We're fixing the bridge so everyone can cross again,' said Lilo. The owl hooted softly. 'That is a kind thing. Many animals have missed this path.' 8
The friends worked all morning. Tilly carried more branches, her round cream belly puffing with effort. Lilo tied knots and checked each plank. Cam swiveled his eyes to check every corner. 'This plank is safe,' he said. 'This one needs another nail.' They did not rush. They wanted the bridge to be safe for everyone. 9
By afternoon, the bridge was almost done. But one rope was too short. 'We need more vine,' said Lilo. 'I know where to find some,' said Cam. He climbed to a high vine and bit through it, then dropped it down. Tilly caught it and tied it to the post. 'Teamwork!' cheered Lilo. The bridge was finally ready. 10
Lilo took a deep breath and stepped onto the bridge. It held firm. 'It's safe!' she called. Tilly and Cam crossed too, their hearts full of pride. 'We did it!' said Tilly. 'Together,' said Cam. They looked at the bridge, now strong and straight, and smiled. The forgotten bridge was forgotten no more. 11
Soon, word spread through the forest. Animals came from all around to cross the bridge. A mother mouse crossed with her babies, and a turtle crossed slowly but surely. 'Thank you!' they said. 'Now we can visit our friends on the other side.' The bridge brought everyone closer, and laughter filled the treetops. 12
That evening, the animals held a small party on the bridge. Butterflies danced, and the owl sang a soft song. Lilo, Tilly, and Cam sat together, tired but happy. 'We make a good team,' said Lilo. 'Yes,' said Tilly. 'And now everyone can share news and visit friends,' added Cam. The bridge was a gift to the whole community. 13
From that day on, the treetop bridge was busy with animals coming and going. Lilo often sat on it, watching her friends cross. She learned that even a small lemur can make a big difference. 'All it takes is a little courage and a lot of help,' she said. And the bridge stood strong, a symbol of their teamwork. 14
Tilly and Cam became regular visitors. They would meet on the bridge and share stories. Sometimes they brought tools just in case. 'You never know when a plank might need fixing,' said Tilly with a wink. The bridge was not just wood and vine; it was a place where friendships grew and kindness flowed. 15
The forest was happier than ever. Animals crossed the bridge to share meals, tell stories, and help each other. Lilo, Tilly, and Cam knew that working together made their community stronger.
