Splash the dolphin loves chasing bubbles and somersaulting near the big coral reef, until one morning a little brass compass on a seaweed cord bumps her nose. When she slips it around her neck, the compass glows turquoise and points toward the reef. But the reef is strangely quiet: the parrotfish are not crunching coral and the clownfish hide in their anemones. With her best friend Pip, a brightly scaled parrotfish, Splash follows the compass to find out what has gone wrong.
The needle leads them to a pale, fading patch of reef, where an old green sea turtle named Tide explains that careless anchors, litter and warm water have harmed the coral. A hidden grotto brings them to Granny Coral, a tall coral spirit who gives the friends a tiny piece of living coral to plant and a seed pod that cleans water. Back at the reef, Splash, Pip and Tide gather seahorses, starfish and clownfish to pick up litter, clear space and plant new coral, with the compass glowing brightest wherever the water is healthy.
This gentle children's tale shows young readers how small, steady acts of care and teamwork can help a damaged coral reef recover. It introduces ideas about clean water, litter and protecting ocean life without lecturing, and it suits children who enjoy animal adventures with a soft environmental message.

A Passage from the Tale
The Dolphin's Coral Compass Çınar BİBER
Splash the dolphin zipped through the warm turquoise water, her blue-grey skin shining. She loved chasing bubbles and somersaulting near the big coral reef. One morning, something round and shiny bumped her nose. It was a little brass compass on a seaweed cord! Splash slipped it around her neck. The compass glowed soft turquoise and pointed toward the reef. "Ooh, a mystery!" she chirped. 1
Splash swam home to the coral reef, where rainbow fish darted and sea anemones waved. But today the reef seemed quiet. The parrotfish weren't crunching coral, and the clownfish hid in their anemones. Splash's best friend Pip, a parrotfish with bright turquoise, pink, and yellow scales, swam up. "Why is everyone so still?" Pip asked, his orange beak twitching. Splash showed him the compass. "It points to living coral!" 2
The compass needle spun and pointed toward a dark patch of reef. "Let's follow it!" said Splash. Pip nodded, his fan-shaped tail flapping. They swam past waving sea fans and spiky urchins. The water felt warmer and cloudier. "I don't like this," Pip whispered. Splash squeezed his fin. "We'll figure it out together." The compass glowed brighter, leading them on. "Look!" said Splash. "The coral ahead looks pale and sad." 3
At the edge of the dark patch, they met Tide, an old green sea turtle with a patterned shell. "Hello, little ones," Tide said, his calm dark eyes twinkling. "The reef has been fading. The coral is losing its color, and the fish are leaving." Splash showed Tide the compass. "It points to living coral. Can you help us find out why the reef is sick?" Tide nodded slowly. "I know these currents. Follow me." 4
Tide led them through a swirling current. "Long ago, this reef was bursting with color," he said. "But careless anchors and litter have hurt the coral. It needs clean water and gentle care." Pip spotted a plastic bag tangled in the coral. "Look! That can't be good." Splash nudged the bag free with her snout. "We can help!" she said. The compass glowed warmly, as if it agreed. 5
They swam on, and the compass led them to a hidden grotto. There, a tall coral spirit named Granny Coral stood, her pink and lavender branches spreading wide. Tiny glowing polyps freckled her body, and amber eyes smiled down. "Welcome, little helpers," she said, her voice like soft waves. "The reef is fading because of trash and warm water. But you can make a difference." Splash and Pip listened closely. 6
Granny Coral explained, "The coral needs clean water and friends who care. Will you help?" Splash and Pip nodded eagerly. Granny Coral gave them a tiny piece of living coral. "Plant this in a clean spot, and it will grow." She also gave them a seed pod that cleans water. "Use it wisely." The friends promised to protect the reef. "We'll bring the reef back to life!" said Splash. 7
Splash, Pip, and Tide swam back to the quiet reef. They gathered their ocean friends: seahorses, starfish, and clownfish. "We need your help!" Splash called. "Let's clean the reef and plant new coral!" The friends cheered. Pip carried the tiny coral piece carefully. Tide showed them where to plant it. Everyone worked together, picking up litter and clearing space for new life. 8
Splash used her compass to find the best spots for coral. The compass glowed brighter near healthy water. Pip used his beak to nibble away harmful algae. "This is fun!" he chirped. The seahorses wrapped their tails around litter and pulled it away. The starfish crawled over the sand, cleaning it. Slowly, the reef began to sparkle again. "We're making a difference!" said Splash. 9
Days passed, and the coral started to grow. Tiny polyps appeared, glowing like Granny Coral's freckles. Fish returned to the reef, their colors bright. The water grew clearer. "The compass is pointing to living coral again!" Splash cheered. Pip danced in circles. "We did it!" Tide smiled. "You small helpers made a big difference." The reef hummed with happy sounds once more. 10
Granny Coral appeared in a shimmer of light. "You have done well," she said. "The reef is healing because of your kindness and teamwork. Remember, healthy coral reefs need care every day." She gave Splash a crown of coral sprigs. "Wear this as a reminder." Splash promised to always protect the ocean. Pip nodded. "And we'll teach others to help, too!" 11
Splash and Pip swam through the reef, showing other fish how to care for the coral. They taught them to pick up litter and not to touch the coral. The compass glowed softly, always pointing to living coral. "We can all be ocean helpers," Splash said. The reef grew more colorful each day. Tide watched from a distance, proud of his friends. "The ocean is in good fins," he chuckled. 12
One evening, a storm rolled over the sea. Waves tossed and turned, and the reef shook. Splash held her compass tight. "We must protect the new coral!" she cried. Pip and their friends rushed to shelter the fragile pieces. They held on to rocks and steadied the coral. The storm passed, and the reef stood strong. "We did it together!" said Splash. The compass glowed bright. 13
The next morning, the reef sparkled in the sun. New coral branches reached up, and fish darted happily. Granny Coral's voice echoed softly, "Well done, little ones. Your courage and kindness saved the reef." Splash wore her coral crown proudly. Pip carried a tiny piece of coral to show everyone. "We'll keep protecting our home," they promised. The ocean friends cheered.
